Can't or Won't?

Recently I was listening to a podcast and something that stuck with me from the podcast was this idea of Can’t vs. Won’t.  I think this is strongly tied to my last blog post about choosing inaction in that both ideas hold us back from achieving our goals.

Think about how often you say to yourself “Oh, I really want to do X but I can’t because Y.”.

Let’s face it, we say we can’t do something when in fact much of the time it’s that we won’t do it. If we really wanted something, we would find a way to make it happen!

Choosing inaction

I wanted to write something related to the last blog post around choices, the choice of inaction. You could also call this making excuses or procrastinating. Whatever it’s called it holds us back from living the life we want.

How many times have you dreamed of doing something but never do it? Maybe you want to take up a new hobby like gardening, painting, writing or dance. Maybe you want to learn a new skill like programming, woodworking, or cooking. Maybe you want to improve your health, start a side gig, or volunteer more.
